Our Ethos
When we began our company we had a fairly clear idea of where we wanted to go and how we wanted to do it. We also had some clear notions about what we did not want.
We are both proud Lancastrians (Louise is from Blackburn & Jason is from Wigan*). We wanted to not only to support local businesses but also, wherever possible, stock locally produced products. In our view this not only helps the local economy but reduces our impact on the environment. We only serve drinks in cups and glasses that are either already made from recycled materials or can be recycled. Our drinks make the shortest possible journey from producer to our stock room. Even our ice comes from 200 yards away.
The bar itself began life in Bakewell in Derbyshire just 65 miles away. The previous owners found it in Lytham St Annes and transported it 42 miles to Billinge near Wigan and we brought it just 18 miles to our door. Of course, we can't be perfect, we are after all, a mobile bar and moving such a thing does require some horsepower. Hopefully, Louise's electric car goes someway to redressing the balance.
So, what about those suppliers? Well, they all have three things in common; they are local, their products are amazing and they have an incredible passion for what they do. No matter how long they have been doing what they do, they still absolutely love doing it and you can taste it. So who are they then?
*Wigan is, and always has been, in Lancashire. Greater Manchester is something us 'Pie Eaters' have never had much affection for.

Our Suppliers
Cuckoo Gin - The Brindle Distillery, Chorley.
Our company was just a few days old when we contacted The Brindle Distillery hoping to meet up with them for a chat. Mark one of the main brains behind Cuckoo Gin happily accepted.
Located just four miles down the road from our home, we are really proud to be able to take Cuckoo Gins with us wherever we go. The folks at The Brindle Distillery are our kind of people, they recycle almost everything, grow their own botanicals, use water from their own spring, their best selling gin is flavoured with honey from their own bees and they'll even give you a discount if you take back your empty Cuckoo Gin bottles to be refilled.
The Brindle Distillery has also raised over £55,000 for Jo's Cervical Cancer Trust. Big hearts, strong ethics and, quite simply, delicious gins make Cuckoo our first choice when it comes to traditional gins. As long as they are making it, we will be selling it.

The Bolton Gin Company - Horwich
Given the popularity of flavoured gins we knew that it was an absolute must to stock gins that packed in flavours that the new generation of gin drinkers would love. We didn't have to travel far to find it.
Just eight miles from our home, in Horwich, on the outskirts of Bolton we found The Bolton Gin Company. Managing Director, Paul. Talked us through the many, many flavours they make. From Watermelon to Candy Floss, Bubble Gum to Blue Raspberry their gin and vodka based spirits are bursting with flavour and a rainbow of shimmering colour.
Paul has been an immense help to us personally because he started exactly where we are, in a mobile bar. Now with a distillery, a range of over 80 spirits and cocktail bases and a number of their own bars The Bolton Gin Company has proven to be an incredible find for us and we are delighted to be able to stock their amazing drinks and to be able to draw from Paul's wealth of experience in doing exactly what we are doing today.

The Three B's Brewery - Darwen
A bar without beer is like a...well I'm not sure what it's like but, it can't be anything good.
Lying discretely behind The Black Bull pub, in Darwen, is the Three B's Brewery founded by Robert Bell in 1999. The Three B's is a small family run company and their ales are a joy to taste. We met with Robert's son, Scott who showed us the range, the brewery and then The Black Bull itself. The Three B's identity is steeped in Lancashire history with many of their beers taking their names from the heyday of the Lancashire cotton industry.
We sampled the dangerously drinkable Bee Blonde pale ale, the chocolatey Stoker's Slake dark mild, the phenomenal Knocker Up and Black Bull Bitter and with the exception of the bitter we'll be stocking them all.
Why not the bitter? Well, that's exclusively available on draft at The Black Bull. To sample that little beauty, you'll just have to make the journey to Darwen.

The Spirit of Garstang - Garstang
Another field trip took us to Garstang to meet Katie, the creative brains behind The Spirit of Garstang gins and Swift Nick Nevison Rums. Katie's gins are traditionally made, small batch, artisan gins that are bursting with flavours combinations that are quite untraditional. Cucumber and mint, mango and passion fruit, Pina Colada, black raspberry and an awesome pink gin that is blue in the bottle and only becomes pink when you add the mixer.
In addition to Katie's range of gins she has a range of incredible rums named after her ancestor and infamous highwayman John "Swift Nick" Nevison. Fortunately, there is no highway robbery here, just delicious rum made with 100% molasses and along with the traditional dark and spiced rum, Katie has added flavours like mango and passion fruit and "Kinder" Bueno.
The only problem we have is trying not to drink it all ourselves.

Sadly, of course, not everything we stock is from the Red Rose County. There are just some things we don't make...like prosecco, tequila and bourbon...but we do our best. If you are a Lancashire based producer of beer (we really want a Lancashire lager or pils), spirits, cider or any other type of alcoholic beverage get in touch at [email protected]. We're always happy to have a chat about booze!
